I really don't want to kill more fish.

From what I understand pH shifts due to CO2 have little to no effect on fish. pH changes due to constantly changing kH, that's a different issue.

Oh my goodness. Aside from all that's already been said....
GET DISCUS!!! Wow. Or bottle your water and sell it by the jug to those of us less fortunate! :D
It is not murder if you're killing snails.

Shift your GH up to the 4-6 range and you'll have perfect CRS and OEBT shrimp breeding conditions.

I wonder how much a truckload of our well water would fetch at a GWAPA auction?

Did I mention that we also have iron bacteria in it as well? Not enough to create a smell but does make a bit of a red slimy ring in the WC tanks.

Seems like you have the exact same type of water that I have. Soft and acidic water is great for planted tanks :D The only problems we'll run into is if we start a salt water tank.

Makes me want to go uncap an old Takoma Park spring.

Makes me wonder why I got an RO unit and didn't just get a shovel and start digging

But yea I'd say your well water is stuff of miracles when it comes to planted tanks and soft-water fish. I wonder if there's a secret pipe in the well that leads to the amazon...
