This place sells it for $12.28 a gallon plus $10 for shipping.

I'll buy a gallon. There is no ground shipping for orders with subtotals of over $100. But that would mean ordering 8 gallons and $2 worth of something else, i.e. syringes.

I would be interested to see the results and would get in on a second order if the first works out well. Let us know Joe.

Thanks

Would this equate to more than one gallon of excel? I've been watching the discussion on this at APC and I would probably try it. Maybe we could even just split one gallon of solution and make enough for x amount of people to try?

Joe, Im not sure that is the same stuff, here is what has me a little worried about that one
* Contains a surfactant to enhance the disinfection process. * Contains a rust-inhibitor to reduce corrosion.

I cant find the MSD sheet to compare the 2.

It already proven, read that thread on APC. The plant group in Ohio is using this as well. They are pleased with the results.

A gallon of excel is around 40 plus shipping.

Maybe getting a gallon to test out would work.

Mericide-2.6% solution, no mixing, use the same as excel.
I imagine as a CO2 source, 1ml per 10 gallons would be appropriate. Possibly a little higher dose for treatment of algae.
The APC thread says a guy experimented using a 2.8 % solution, at 5X the normal excel dosage. He dosed 30 ml in a 60 gallon tank. He reported good plant growth and algae dying. But he also said it killed his Riccia. I believe it also said he had no problems with his fish or other critters.
I am willing to test it myself in my 20G DIY CO2 tank, maybe at 2X normal dosage.

Ricca dies even if you over dose excel so that is no surprise to me. The way I understand with 2.6-2.8% you treat it just like excel and dose the recommended levels.

There is all kinds of stuff on that site, tweezers, scissors, case of H2O2 for 8.00 bucks!

Even though Medical Industries of America's website does not provide an MSDS, it is still MetriCide 14. I will email them and request the MSDS just to be able to compare it to the one on ProTech's site to ensure it is the same stuff.

Ask about the 28 day as well if you do. I think its stable longer, but dont think it really matters for our purpose
