No, because of the higher than normal nitrate lvls, I'm not dosing nitrates. I did increase the water changes to closer to 50%. Could the driftwood we have in there be causing an increase in the nitrates? Was a suggestion by my BF. I think we're still dealing the the after affects of a die off of plant material. I'll retest everything tomorrow (Sugarland concert tonight! ) so, I'll update after that.
THANKS!!
BTW, I've been trying to order the mono phosphate from aquarium fertilizer and having trouble with the cart page. I'm trying to order 3 bags, but when I update, it clears out the screen. I've talked to the owner twice and have tried 2 different computers. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any problems.

For food I'm using TetraMin Tropical Crisps, New Life Spectrum Cichlid Formula (as recommended by Andrew at Tropical Fish World 1+yrs ago) and Hikari sinking wafers. I alternate the crisps with the pellets and wafers and only feed every other day. They only get 2 pinches with both and when feeding the wafers, 2 wafers.
I noticed last night during our power outage that my otto is actually still alive! I was very happy to see that. He's been in hiding for me for a while now. In addition, we do have 2 java loaches, but I haven't seen the kuhli loaches.
We're going out today to get more plants and hopefully find some SAE's. I think the tank is actually, finally, coming around. I want to purchase some more vals and if I can find them, more hygrophilia. I think that by the time the SAE's come out of quarenteen, the tank will be ready for them. Today is retesting day, especially with the power outage last night.
I'll update later.
Thanks

Can you make the next meeting?
I can cut at least two kinds of hygrophila for the next auction if you'd like. Angustifolia, which looks like a tall grassy plant, and stricta, which has large leaves reddish in high light.
Google hygrophila corymbosa angustifolia, and hygrophila corymbosa stricta, for images.
Both are easy to keep and can be fast growers.

Retested nitrates. Right in range at about 20ppm. I'm not sure if I'll be at the next meeting because of a previous engagement. I'm playing it be ear that weekend.
Anyhow, Scott and I went out today and purchased more vals, a couple more crypts, a couple more crypt balanase, and 4 more onion plants. I've done some rearrangement and will get pictures up as soon as I can. I'm beginning to feel like things are beginning to come together.
Would love to have more hygrophila and I thank you for the offer.
