Small Raised Brick Pond.

Post by krisw »

I just wanted to share some pictures of a raised brick pond I built at the end of my patio. It took me 2.5 days (and a nice farmer's tan and sunburn) to build the wooden frame out of 2x4s, lay the brick facade around it, and install the pond liner and trim, but it's finally done! Of course, it wouldn't be my pond if I didn't start it out with gobs of phyllanthus fluitans!

For now, I'm going to see how it goes without any filtration or pump to circulate the water. Due to that, I'm going to have to be pretty heavy on the floater plants. If I end up with a nice green mess, I guess I'll have to run an electrical line, extending the circuit off of the outdoor plugs on the back of my house. (I really don't want to do that if I don't have to.) I'd appreciate any thoughts or past experiences on this topic.

Really? They show up there for me. They're at the bottom underneath the text. Might take a second to load.

Dittto. Nothing at this end either.

Don't worry about filteration though. I get some green water for about 10-14 days as the water warms, but once I cross the 40-45'F threshhold, it clears up in a day.

Oops. The pics showed up after I posted the original. Nice work.

Cheers.
