I've not used this, but it seems like the yeast/sugar method, just with more expensive raw materials from them, perhaps with some extra bindings to make 'gel' instead of just sugar water. If you were to go this route, I'd just recommend using a rigid plastic bottle (like a Simply Orange orange juice bottle), install a hose barb in the cap with silicon, and use yeast/sugar. Keep in mind that while this is a short term economical solution, long term it becomes much more expensive than pressurized CO2. In addition, the amount of CO2 produced operates on a curve, so it ramps up and down as the yeast consumes the sugar. This means that unlike pressurized CO2 that provides a constant rate over months, you end up with varying rates of CO2 making it harder to balance your tank. Plus, if any of the solution manages to get into the tank, it can produce a very messy (and dangerous for your fish) situation.
