Aquarium light diffuser

On the reefing side of the hobby, lighting diffuser has gained popularity over the last couple years due to the ability to blend led spectrums. Has anyone tried this? I am debating mounting a large panel of diffuser to my tanks as a way of blocking light bleed since I sit under where my frag tank is going.

I ordered light-diffusing film to apply to my strong LEDs, but I haven't tried it yet.
