Beamswork LEDs?

Post by Ltrepeter2000 »

I was wondering if anyone had any experience using Beamswork LED fixtures. Just looking for feedback on whether they are just cheap or if that is an additional side bonus and they are actually productive lights for the aquarium.

Thanks

The one we have over our 150 gallon grows plants OK - Vals, Anubias, Crypts Staurogyne, ludwidgia, lilies, hornwort, and radican swords. The light is yellowish and doesn't do much for fish colors. I hear the new "High Output" versions are better and have a better color temperature, but I can't personally attest to this.

I do know our fixture, 2-3 years old, has a few burned out LEDs and the original power source fried itself about 1 year after we purchased it. I think you could do one of these and add one of the finnex stingray or monster ray fixtures to help improve color and it'd probably be an improvement. You get what you pay for with these, though.
