I'm looking for a new circulation pump for near the bottom of my 110 (48w x 18d x 30h). I was thinking about a Hydor Koralia 750 (750 gph), a Koralia 1050 (1050gph), or something similar.
Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks.
Cheers.
Jim

Jim I got a pair of JBJ circulation pumps (550 gph) with a wave maker at MarineDepot for $80 shipped, they also have a kit with 2 1600 gph pumps for around a $100 or so. I've had them for 2 or 3 months with no problems, they are smaller than the Koralia and they work with an impeller that gives a wide gentle flow, the wave maker is fairly basic with continous power or alternating power from 10 seconds up to 6 minutes, oh the impeller on the pumps are very much like the Eheim canisters with the magnet & ceramic axle.
The only con with these are the power cords are only 36" each but for the price you cant beat them.
I use them in a 150 g tall and I could have got the 1600 gph models and used the wavemaker to control power.

I bought the Koralia 5 which was way too big and way too powerful for my 120. I bought a smaller model from Damien and it seems to be to powerful as well. No matter how I position it the plants are leaning.
I'm hoping to try one more time to find something that will give me a circulating current without causing too much turbulence.

The JBJ's are nice, wide, and very good control with the wave maker, but the price was the kicker.
I really got lucky at House of Tropicals had the Koralia, JBJ, Oceanic, and the MaxiJet with a retro kit, but I got to see and touch them all and see them in their tanks. Although nobody at any forum had ever used them, so I took a chance.
