glass co2 diffusers

Post by magsdez »

I'm having trouble with my new glass co2 diffusers. The ones with the porceline (sorry about spelling) plate in the middle of it. They aren't releasing bubbles anymore. Do they need some sort of regular cleaning? If so, what do I use?

Thanks!

Yes, they need to be cleaned regularly. A good trick is on every water change to pull them above the water line, fill the bell with hydrogen peroxide, and by the time you're done with the water change, it should be pretty clean. If it's all blocked up now, however, you probably want to pull it out, and soak it overnight in a bleach/water solution. Rinse until it doesn't smell like bleach before you put it back in the tank.
