ADA 30c-need padding

Post by Jeff120 »

I know that larger ADA tanks need the mat under then to fill the voids and what not. Will I need something under a 30 cube as well?

I used rubber made for stopping rugs from sliding on hardwood or tile floors. The stuff I got is solid rubber and was sold by the foot at the hardware store.

You can also use rubber tool chest drawer liner. It's a rubber mesh material and comes in black or vibrant orange! Found at your local Lowe's, HD, or Sears.

Cheers.

What is the purpose of the lining? To prevent any issues with pressure points?

Hmm, might have to do that with a different tank that has no rim..

Jeff,
I usually buy a 4x8 sheet of Styrofoam home insulation for under $10 and cut it to size.
You can get it at Lowes or Home depot, the sheets are white so you can paint it any color you want. You might even find a broken piece and offer them a couple bucks for it or get a half sheet at a reduced price. I have seen damaged one in the reduced rack.
If you need the black padding that Jim was talking about I can bring some to the next meeting I have tons of it.

Its going on a stand that I made, its flat, I may just put something under it for piece of mind. The black padding sounds like that may work. Thanks Kevin
