Here's one I took last summer of some
grasshoppers in a compromising situation.

I have been put to shame. After seeing the pictures
in the following link - I have decided to retire
my Sony. I need a DSLR and a macro lens please.

Hey, some of us are Cicada-deprived, and only remember prior cycles when we lived in Silver Spring.   Now it is vacarious via the Washington Post and the web.

Ghazanfar... keep the Sony and pick up a cheap Nikon Coolpix somewhere. They have an incredible macro range and the CoolLight is a nice add-on for close ups. I'm not thrilled about the long distance capabilities of the Coolpix lines, but the macro abilities are awesome. You can borrow mine for a bit if you want to give it a shot.
