One of the simplest ways to attach a rigid hose to a difficult part(barb, glassware) is to couple them with something more flexible. If the attached part is in the water you won't have any gas loss, if it's outside the tank the loss shouldn't out weight the headache of a loose fit or possibly breaking something.

If you're using a stiff/rigid hose and want to attach it to a barb or glassware you can also try using a hairdryer to heat the hose(makes it more flexible) before putting it on.

If you don't have a hairdryer you can put water in a pyrex container and heat it in your microwave oven for 1- 2 minutes, then dip the tubing into the hot water. This makes the tubing more plyabel before trying to attach it. Please use caution when working with hot objects(men, women, tubing, water etc..) use oven mitts, gloves, towels or whatever it takes to protect your hands

I'll try and put something together for the DIY section hopefully some pictures with explanations will help others on this subject.

I also need some CO2 tubing. I'm not sure how much yet, so I'll just get the 50' as it comes.
