Just so happens I was in the office....Fixture is 72" long by 8" wide. The 80W bulbs are 60" long, the bulbs are a full 12" short on either end of the fixture. It actually has three banks for lights, but my fixture only has two bulbs, one on each end, the middle bank has no bulb. My tank gets a full 8 hours of light, each bulb on 4 hours, but 12" on either end only gets 4 hours of light. Not a big deal for my Tangy tank, this tank is for the multi's and Calvus, plants just add color. I still think you could do a full hi tech planted tank with only two lights, maybe have to use legs. Or have that third bank with a bulb, on a separate switch, to use or not use, mid day burst maybe?

My 75g planted has 3 bulbs, I only use the outer two, third bulb and I had an algae farm going. Still fight algae some weeks, and it has pressurized co2

Below are the best pics I could get (I really have to learn how to use this camera), I couldn't lift light up by myself, open top tank, fixture is hanging on a chain and feared it could crash into tank, did the best I could:

End of light with no bulbs on, you can see the three banks for bulbs:

End of light with one bulb on:

FTS, front light on only:

I'm pming you also....hope this helps:

Thanks Loni! Is that a retro kit from Catalina?

NO, it's this light, modified, wider cabinet, splash guard, cords/switches, hanging hooks:

I have 4 catalina lights, I know some don't like them, but they do the job on my tanks.....
