SPLITTING Co2 from regulator

So... this may be sort of....
duh... why don't you do the right thing sort of thing.....but
I am wondering If i have several tanks, can i use a brass ganged air valve to split the single line into 4 or 5 so i can supplement these tanks...
not trying to high tech it, rather just trying to add some Co2 to add to plant growth.
basically, saving on 5 bubble counters .

on a separate note.....Does silicone airline work ok for Co2 or can anyone reccomend Co2 safe tubing i can buy in larger quantities....

I would think a gang valve meant for air would be terribly difficult to control the flow. Bubble counters are very useful for judging the amount of gas going in the tank and serve as a visual indicator that gas is flowing. I use fluval bubble counters, they aren't that expensive. You can use silicone but I've heard that you will lose some gas due to the fact that they are somewhat permeable. I use polyurethane tubing.

I used to split the flow to 6 tanks with a splitter that had 6 needle valves. It was hard to set and maintain the pressure I wanted for each tank. You have to watch and adjust for a long time - days. I wouldn't do it again.

I've done it with two tanks, and it's a pain. I can't imagine doing more than that.

is it because the pressure is not constant and one works off another, in that if i set #1 needle valve, where i want it , then i add #2 and #3 etc... each time i add one the pressure changes on #1, and so on and so on?????
so you have to tweak each time you add a line..????

I set up a system years ago that works. Pressure regulator, tubing, metal t splitters, tubing, 3 bubble counters, 3 EXPENSIVE needle valves, tubing to three separate tanks on one system. I have never had a problem with this setup.
