I'm not happy with the yellowish tint my current T5HO bulbs are providing. I have 4 24" bulbs.
I've read that Giesemann bulbs are good, but there are differernt types and I am not sure what to order.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to what to order and from where?

Julie, you can search on "Giesemann" and find the thread for a group order the club did a while back, that may help. There are two different Giesemann bulbs, with different color spectrums; one is more in the red frequencies, and the other is more in the blue. Both work well in combination. A common configuration is one 10,000K bulb and one 6,700K bulb. I think a lot of folks have probably used this configuration, or something close to it.

10000k is more white like an overcast day, and 6700k is yellow like a sunny day. Right now I'm using both of them to grow my plants since I am kind of torn between which color grows plants better. Later on however I plan on using coralife's "colormax" bulb, which is pink in color. Apparently it really brings out the reds of plants and fish and takes away that yellowish tint. I have a dual power compact, so I'm doing it in combination with the the 6700k, the 10000k, and an actinic 470 nm.
My Giesemann bulbs arrived today. I bought two AquaFlora and two Midday. They really do bring out the red of the plants more. Also, they bring out the red color in my fake rock background too. The new lights combine with my new Pfertz dosing routine should really make my plants take off. I guess, I am going to have to learn the art of trimming.
