What I got at homedepot once was a sink strainer.
the ones you put in the sink to prevent hair and other debris from getting into the pipes....
I think it was a 2 pack of squares of about 6"x4" for 99 cents

This guy on Aquabid is selling exactly what I'm looking for for $1.21 for a 4x2.75" piece. All the other places online I've seen this available at the prices vary so much based on the mesh size / wire size etc - quite expensive in some cases. Ima just give up and order from this guy. Emailed him to get a quote for 10 sections w/ shipping.

This site has it all, any type material, any size mesh, but may be best for group orders, as there are minimum quantity requirements.

I used to have a 4 foot roll of stainless mesh left over from building an air abatement scrubber. I threw it out after not finding a use for it after 6 or 7 years.

Damn I know I should never throw anything out.
