I got a few of these, but can't find out how to use them. Do they go in the water? They don't seem to open up to add glycerine or water inside. I can't find instructions anywhere.

Have you called TPP? For years I ordered from them all the time. They used to have the lowest prices of anyone, great customer service and living in NOVA, if I ordered early morning, I got my goods the very next day. However, I've found lately the opposite, so I'm not sure how much help they would be anymore.

If you use a solenoid, they fill up with aquarium water every night after the solenoid clicks off, you need to have a check valve in line after the bubble counter. These are meant to be visible and 'decorative' as well as functional. Best used within 18 or 24 inches of the diffuser. I wouldn't use this to bubble CO2 into a filter.
