I helped my friend put together a tank idea that was similar but terrestrial, using Manzanita (so basically you could do the same thing aquatically with it too). It was a branchy thicket with plants growing out of it, and once the plants grow in you'd barely notice that it was actually a bundle of sticks Gives the little geckos plenty of basking, hiding, and egg laying spots (they like to wedge eggs in crevices so the group of stick was perfect for that where you wouldn't have as many on one solid piece of wood). It's mostly wedged together and using fishing line weaved in and out of them like a basket to make sure they stay that way. Couldn't see the fishing line since most of it was in shadow, especially once the plants where growing in... and I used yellow line because it was what I had
