CO2 splitting
CO2 splitting
I am trying to install a CO2 splitter. Am I right to assume that I will have to remove part of the regulator and then screw on the splitter (see pic)? Also, would the splitter be in the right position so that the bubble counters would be sitting on top?

Can I chime in and say that these are lousy systems? Anyways, yeah, what Aaron said, you will have to put in the effort to make sure the bubble counters are upright and it will work. You got the stove installed correctly so this should be a piece of cake.

Sean, this 3-way manifold has worked for me, but I assume you say they're lousy because you prefer having a needle-valve at each aquarium, instead of having all of them at the CO2 tank, right?
Viktor, it doesn't have to be 100% vertical for the bubble counters, as I'd worry more about it being tight and leak-free, verses having the bubble-counters be off by 30 degrees. Of course, this is assuming that you're attaching the bubble counters directly to the needle valves on the manifold. If you're just attaching tubing, and putting bubble counters inline then you can rotate the manifold any which way. (The bubble counters that fit these needle valves can be made to run inline with a hose barb and check valve attached to the bottom.)

I just got the splitter installed. The original part was on it very tightly, so I had to go to my piano shop to get the job done. Yes, Joe, it is a JBJ, and the splitter fits it perfectly (I got it from http://co2-canisters.com/index1.html). I don't know what size the threads are.
