Warranty on the nano fixtures?

Ballast just went up in smoke in front of me... bbzt.

So great, already have this thing planted.

Dave, I can call Catalina Aquarium and inquire about a replacement. If everyone else can please try firing up their fixture today, so that I don't have to make multiple calls if we got a bad batch. I'll call them tomorrow, if that's okay?

That works, putting a 13w pigatil above the tank for now.

For any questions they have:

It wouldn't light only one bulb from the start, see post below. I tried one bulb for about 2 mins, leaving it on, to see if it would fire... lit it, but dimly.

Put the other bulb back in, it started to buzz when it went on, and then poof, smoke.

That's crazy Dave... wow. you don't need a light anyway, with that stand, you're gonna win, so it doesn't matter.

I had mine fired up Saturday, only for a few minutes, but everything seemed fine.

Started mine up before leaving for work. One bulb lit up promptly. The other seemed wonky, but lit eventually. Hope I haven't burned the house down.

Make sure the connectors are pushed on all the way and tight.

Mine works fine. Its just plants I have problems with.

The connections to the bulbs can be a little loose. I had to take a pair of needle nose plyers and crimp the connections a little bit so they would fit snugger. Once I did that the one bulb that wasn't firing up worked fine. I also had to fix the other bulb later on I thing that it is a result of all the heat the bulbs produced might make the connections exspand over time.
