The topic says it all. Any ideas? I've got to relocate one large pleco to another tank (twice actually). Small ones I can deal with, but I'm afraid I have no idea how to handle "Scooter".

Last time I tried netting one over three or four inches, he got his fins hung up in the net and ended up carrying around bits of netting that I had to cut off. I don't have a net big enough for Scooter and I'm fairly certain I'd hang his fins even if I did have one.

I'm open to just about any suggestions.<edited><editID>Jonathan Kalmes</editID><editDate>38064.9674884259</editDate></edited>

A clear plastic bag should be tough enough to hold the water and fish. It will be tough to move through the water, but will solve the fins problem.

Materials:
Coat-hanger
plastic bag
magnet from a telephone receiver

I think the solution is clear enough.

Or scoot Scooter into a plastic water pitcher when you get the water level to the point that you can herd him in.

I think I like Sean's idea best. I'll just leave him for last.

Gaz, you've got more guts than me... I ain't touching him! He's got fin spines that would make Godzilla blush. ;)
