I read on yesterday's newspaper about this disease, the name is
schistosomiasis but is known as "snail fever" because, acording to the article "is an infection caused by parasitic worms that are shed by snails in the water" the worms penetrate the skin when humans get in contact with contaminated water.
have any of you heard of this?
how we get rid of different kind of snails in the aquarium? suggestions?

Francisco,
If you really are concerned about avoiding contact with the water, you could try these but it might make planting fine stem plants difficult.
