As franny said, Discus are piglets. I severly stunted a couple of mine when I was raising them because I underfed. Also, the latest trend in discus rearing is to stear clear of animal proteins like beef heart and feed fish and insect based proteins like chopped clams, worms, (I know not an insect), shrimp, etc.
