Platys Eat BBA

Post by jcali10 »

I believe my platys are eating dead bba. The day after Aquafest I took some pics of my new fish, 2 electric blue rams. Right behind them in the photo was an anubias that I had dipped in a bleach solution, and you could see all the white fuzzy algae. Well one week later it's all gone, while the unbleached live BBA is still there; apparently they'e not interested in the live BBA.

I used to have a shrimp tank, and I would sometimes take a BBA covered anubias from my Endler tank and place it in my shrimp tank and they would just clean it up. Difference being the BBA the shrimp cleaned up was not pre-treated with bleach. I have a lot of anubias that need the bleach and platys treatment. Mollies too huh, I wonder about swordfish, since they are very similar to platys.
