They tend to jump out if the water quality is not to their liking.

I find one a year or so dried up on the floor. They look like the freeze-dried krill I used to feed to my big cichlids back when I was into that sort of thing. (I.e. before I got rid of fish because they were obscuring my view of the plants.)
