I have expanded my hobby yet again. Someone said there is a light at the end of this tunnel, but I still don't see it.

That's some very nice photography. And the Scleromystax barbatus is one beautiful catfish! I love the gentle nature of these fish and the way they can wink at you. My green lasers have laid eggs a number of times in my community 12 g, but I've never had the right setup to be able to raise the young. Someday!

Nice! Good exposure considering the bright sand!

Thanks!
These were actually test shots to see how well I could photograph with the sand
First time trying it. I think there will always be a few grains that are overexposed when shooting bottom dwellers.
*** Free tip of the day ***
Sand works great as a reflector to help better expose the underside of fish that swim higher up in the water column.

That would be New Tank Syndrome!
Ask for new photos in a month or two.

Great photos Michael! This isn't some ploy to get us all out to hear your photography talk at the next CCA meeting is it?
How big do those Scleromystax barbatus get? Do they dig? They'd look nice in my tank.

You caught me Kris!
Haven't kept them long enough to see if they dig. They do sift sand so I am guessing they could cause a little trouble in a planted tank. May just stir up the top layer which isn't all bad. I think the barbatus get to about 3". I had to beg and plead the person to sell me those, they were originally not for sale. Hopefully I can breed them, as there seems to be a lot of interest in them.
