Advice needed for Staghorn algae in tank with CRS and RCS

Post by jweis »

I have staghorn algae in my tank, which also has CRS and RCS. I also have some beautiful moss that I split the order with at the Feb mtg (can't remember the name of the moss and since I split the order I don't have it marked on the bag, but I vaguely remember someone saying it was sensitive to Excel).

So, should I add some Amano shrimp to the tank since I've read they are the only shrimp that will eat staghorn algae?

Or should I dose with Excel? I want to be sure I don't kill my new moss that is doing so well.

I would appreciate advice. Thanks,
Julie

Take the moss out and send it to me  then spot treat the staghorn with excel. Make sure you turn your filter off before doing the treatment.

Do I just treat once, then change the water the next day (50 percent) the next day?
