Where is the best (read "cheapest") place to buy a cannister of CO2?

I bought one from a fire extinguisher place in Hyattsville. F&M Fire Protection Service Ince 4715 Rhode Island Ave. 301-277-6655 www.fandmfire.com
5lb container $60 plus $3 tax

Is this for a new aluminum tank or a re-conditioned steel one?

This is a used cylinder. Then you can exchange it. BTW, not open on weekends.

I got a reconditinoed steel 10 lb. tank from BOC Gases in Baltimore for $55.00 I shopped the yellow pages of Greater Baltimore and they had the best price in that area.

I get mine from Roberts Oxygen in Glen Burnie the "buy" was approx $50, I think refills are $20 ish, but I havent refilled yet .. so dont quote me

The $55 from BOC gases includes a full tank of gas if you pay cash.

try a local welding shop, or a company that services fountain sodas or a company that serves oxygen to hospitals.
usually there is a 'deposit' for the tank, then refills are 15 bucks or so
