Trimming Ranalisma Rostrata

Post by ricoishere »

I started with a few stems given to me by Kris, and now I have a very dense mat of "Ranalisma Rostrata". How would one go about thinning it out without destoying it? The mat is so thick, runners are growing above substrate. Any tips?

I had never heard of this plant, so I googled it. Look what I found...

A post from 2003. Not meaning to hijack this thread.....but I'm really curious, are we talking about "weeds" that are over 7 years old (I'm impressed)....Just wondering...

Thanks. I've seen this thread. Yes, this plant is considered a "Weed", but a great looking one. I have to trim a bunch of it, and don't want totear up the scaping.

Use tweezers and to gently pull up and expose runners and scissor to detach...

That plant is interesting in that the runners are laid over the tops of all the surrounding plants. Clip all the runners you can and tease out the individual plants that are the highest on the pile. Don't forget to bring some to the next meeting.
