Lagenandra thwaitesii spathe!
I have been growing emersed Cryptocoryne and Lagenandra for over a year now, and they have steadfastly refused to flower for me. This has been immensely frustrating, because the whole reason I started growing them emersed was to get them to flower.
I recently changed up my emersed setup, which had been housed in a 40 breeder fish tank with 4″ or so of water, and transfered a small handful of my emersed plants into the 75g terrarium where I keep our Nepenthes. I just used a square plastic tub about 5″ tall, and put about 3-4″ of water in it.
Something about the change in conditions must have induced the Lagenandra (which had been growing quite vigorously over the last few months) to throw up a spathe I only noticed tonight:
