Ponds and pond plants
Do most plants you would keep in an outdoors pond require some amount of direct sunlight each day, or would they be OK if the pond were lightly shaded by trees most of the day? I realize that's a pretty broad question, and the answer probably depends a lot on which plants we're talking about, but I thought I'd toss the question out here anyway.

It is usually recommended that a pond get 6 hours of sun a day and to avoid placing them near trees due to leaf litter. My waterlillies are getting about 5 hours of direct sunlight a day and they are both putting up flowers.
