My favorite newb mistake: buying plants way too big for my tank. I've had these Hygros for a couple months, and they grow much faster than my corymbosa. (LFS sold them as "Giant Hygro"... maybe I should've looked up the definition of "Giant" lol) I've been letting them grow emergent, and this morning I see a little bud on one of them.
Does this look like a blossom? This would be my first flower, so I'm pretty stoked. I also have my Bacopa monnieri growing out all over.... very Dotson-esque

.... but no sign of flower buds on those.
I've read that some plants need phosphorous to bloom, or at least, it encourages them to flower. Anyone do this? Wouldn't suddenly dosing with extra phosphorous give a "bloom" of algae?
