Hi,
We picked up some of Kris' utrics at last month's auction. After visiting Mike Szesze's nursery (we're in for a treat when we meet there), I took most of it and planted it up as emersed plants. That stuff seems to be going ok.
I took the rest and planted it in plugs in my 5 g. tank (which I just re-scaped). It's been about ten days since I planted it. This tank has reliable CO2, steady ferts, strong light--so its plants seem to be thriving--except for the utricularia. It's kind of yellowish green and to my eyes, looks a bit peaked.
Should I be concerned? Is this just a plant where old growth has to be replaced by new growth? Is yicky yellow green its regular color? Is it really a plant that hates CO2, fertilizer and good light? Or is DH right--do I need more patience (ye Gods preserve us)?
OK, will wait for hopeful response and advice.

Mary, Utricularia is a funny plant. In my experience, it's always taken a period to adjust to the tank before really taking off. Are you sure that the yellow color isn't due to iron deficiency? It also makes sense that if you just rescaped your 5 gallon, that the Utricularia, being a carnivorous plant and all, might need some time for the micro-organism population of the tank to rebuild itself. I'd just wait it out, and see how it goes.
