I have a friend in Seattle that wants to set up a small basic planted tank. He is not a big planted tank hobbyist, but he is familiar with things like light and CO2. In other words, he isn't a novice either. Where can he get plants? He wouldn't want tissue cultured plants, or high light, high CO2, high maintenance. Just an online store with basic stuff.
Thanks,
Ben

Seems like he should stop by Steve Waldron's store, Aquarium Zen:
http://www.aquariumzen.net
Or, contact anyone in GSAS. I imagine someone would sell him plants as there are lots of talented planted aquarists there.

He knows about Aquatium Zen. I think he was looking more for a mail order place. Maybe I shouldn't have said Seattle area. He is in Seattle. Doesn't care where plants come from. My bad.
Re: Plants in Seattle Area
Well, the healthiest plants often come from hobbyists. I'm sure Steve could order anything he wants, but if he doesn't want to go that route, the For Sale forums on APC and PlantedTank. AquaForest sells plants online thru their site.
