Good point, Jen. I forgot to tell her that one.

Re: Planting hairgrass
Jen has the right suggestion. Plant short hairgrasses so that only the last 1/4 inch of the tips are showing above the substrate. The plant will spread out from there with no problem. Use sharp point tweezers and plant clumps of as many plants as you can handle. Three to fifteen or twenty plants in a clump is OK. They spread faster if you have cut the connecting runners before you plant them.DonkeyFish wrote:Plant deep. I'm wondering if you just aren't getting your roots deep enough in substrate for them to hold????

That's a good tip on cutting the runners and I didn't know that you could plant it that deep. But in terrestrial landscapes pruning always promotes new growth.

Re: Planting hairgrass
Thanks for the tip! I just planted some yesterday in my 30 cube and it made such a difference. Now I'm not worried about it floating up after a couple of days, especially since I'm going to be adding some sterbais in a few days.
