Automated CO2 Injections Systems "High Tech"

Post by HiFins »

Hello everyone,

I just emailed Ghazanfar on this question but probably should have asked it here, so I will do it now. I'm new to this forum also!

I am looking for a recommendation on automated CO2 injection systems and related components. I would mostly like to have a system or piece my own together with components that others have found to work well, last, and are easy to use.

Some system examples for sale are the complete system (sans tank) from Dr Fosters & Smith for $399. This system includes a Pinpoint Ph controller (usually this product costs $189-$199 by itself). http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/p ... 2004&Nty=1

Another system is from the Aquatic Store (sans tank) for $192.99 using a Milwaukee Ph controller, sms122. http://aquatic-store.com/en-us/dept_631.html.

Of course there are many places to purchase components to make one's own system including the two stores above, Big Als, etc.

Again any suggestions related to the above would be much appreciated,

Thanks in advance for your assistance,

I know this doesn't exactly answer your question, but I have THIS regulator/needle valve/solenoid combo and like it. It is sold here as well as in several of the aquarium online stores.

All you would have to add was a controller and something to difuse the CO2 and you're good to go.

I have automatic CO2 on one tank because back when I got it in 1996 it was the only thing going. No Internet with people telling you cheaper ways. Unless you are interested specifically in going high tech, I would do without the controller.

Good Luck,
Ben

CO2 injection system

Ben,

Thanks for the response....actually I was looking for what folks liked so you did answer that part of my question. I also appreciate your suggesting to go without a monitor, they are expensive. I have seen the regulator/combo you referenced and wondered if it was liked by users, so thanks. In terms of diffusing the CO2 do you have experience with membranes vs reactors? That may be in another thread here but I haven't looked yet, which I will do later.

Thanks again for your response,

Hifins
