Charophytes

Post by gconcepcion »

FYI: especially for anyone that picked up any of the Chara from today's auction...

In general, Charophytes require a regular fertilization regimen of Macronutrients (NPK) and micro/trace elements to stay happy and will do well with regular cool white fluorescent tubes.

If you want to get technical about it, here is a link to specific concentrations of Macro and Micro nutrients that are typically used for growing Charophytes in laboratory conditions

They do well when single thalli are planted in fine soil, but can thrive in a variety of substrate types.
