Another post about neglect... in a good way! I went to hack one of my 40s and had THREE nurii spikes. They have since faded and another popped up just after. I'm afraid to start paying attention to it again!

apparently the trick is to ignore the tank. At least in this house that's the ticket!

Nice one Jen. I find the hardwater Crypts like it when you do top offs and not water changes. So neglect works in your favor.

The water sample labeled AT 30 B is my 30 breeder that I'd been topping off for months. Look at the difference in GH and KH between the tank water and my tap water!

I'll bet if Jen suddenly did a really large water change she'd get some Crypt melt going on.

Works for me, too! Nice that at least something looks good in my shamefully neglected tanks these days!

My nurii is also very likely to flower if there is any big change in the tank. Increased lighting, decreased lighting, resuming big water changes after weeks or months of neglect, resuming ferts after weeks or months of neglect, etc.
