My 1st attempt for a hardscape

Post by Nikhilsk99 »

I though I should share pictures with you. This is my 1st attempt for a hardscape in my 29gallon tank.

Nikhil, it looks pretty good. I have a couple of suggestions:

1. It appears that the rocks on the left group are different from the rocks on the right, which seems a little bit odd.

2. The wood is directly centered. It's a nice piece of wood. Is there anyway to integrate it into the left-side mound, so it flows and ends more in the middle?

Thanks Kris for the feedback. I liked both the rocks so I tried to use them but looks the rocks not complementing each other. Let me try make some changes and then post a new photo.

I picked up all the rocks you see in the picture from a local Sand and Gravel shop here in Denver CO for just $6. I do not know the rock type. I am guessing the one on left is lava rock.

Thanks Nikhilsk99, the rocks look nice but I would also stick with 1 type of rock. (I meant on the left)

The wood going straight up like that is jarring.
