No tank yet but a stand!
No tank yet but a stand!
Finally finished the stand for my 90 gallon. Now for the fun stuff, or different fun stuff to be more exact.

Re: No tank yet but a stand!
Looks really nice. I love the side door. Good job.
Re: No tank yet but a stand!
Thanks Nick. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. That said there is some design aspects I would change if I were doing it again.
Re: No tank yet but a stand!
I like the side door too and always a big fan of hiding the bottom rim of the tank so that the substrate level is just above the cabinet. Looks nice! What would you do differently?
Re: No tank yet but a stand!
Theres actually another door on the other side as well although its a bit useless in its current location. Hiding the fake wood trim at the bottom of the tank was a must. Still thinking if I want to do a canopy for the top.
Basically the thing is overbuilt. You could probably park a truck on it. It has 6 legs that extend to the bottom and then are tied together with some cross braces. The plan was to distribute the weight across the whole thing. The floor ending up being much more uneven then I thought (used a broken level before I realized it) so the tank sat unleveled until I shimmed it out but the weight is more concentrated now. Should have just gone with 6 leveling feet. Also the outside legs make up the corners and were hard to get right with the rest of the frame. Minor details but always looking at improvements

Re: No tank yet but a stand!
Thank you Larry
OK now we have a tank
Quick pic of my tank so far. Everything is doing well, somethings to well. I had to move the pogostemon as the staurogyne is getting quite large. Still dealing with some algae but nothing crazy and the sagittaria needs to be contained back to where it belongs.
Looking for some micranthemum for the front left. Suggestions?

I like the background. Did you buy it or make it?
Re: No tank yet but a stand!
I bought it from Universal Rocks. Quite happy with it .
