Nice pictures! The stargrass-looking one with the round floating leaves is a Callitriche species. Cavan and I saw some of that this weekend at the Patuxent Research Refuge near Fort Meade, MD:

Pictures-only (you are not permitted to collect there):

Your Ludwigia pictures are pretty. That's a really nice native Ludwigia which is worth trying in your aquarium if you never have.

Good to know about Lyndhurst as my little brother lives down near Charlottesville. Those are some good pics.

Enjoyed reading the writeup Kris.

Oh, I don't know the legality of collecting at your lake. I was saying that it's illegal to collect where Cavan and I went, as it's a protected refuge. So, we took pictures, and enjoyed the habitat.

Again, nice pictures. It's a ton of fun seeing how many plants there are out there locally that we usually just walk past. There's likely a native plant out there that could be a gem in the aquarium, just no one's tried it. Even many botanists who study some of these plants, often only see them in the pressed/dried or emersed form with flowers. They don't always know that a given plant will even grow submerged. It's a lot of fun, thanks for sharing yours!

Those are great pics. I need to make it out to the eastern part of this state more and see what's growing. Nothing much here next to the mountains.

What is the plant with the little round leaves? Looks like clover, but I can tell it is a stem plant.

Cavan's mentioned that all of the Callitriche species he's tried tend to melt come winter time regardless of what you do. That's a shame since they're attractive plants!

Is picture #4 a closeup of pic #2?
