Ghanzafar done inspired me!
26g bowfront.
Would appreciate feedback, I'm new at doing anything more than "load it up and see if it grows" type of planting.
My first real aquascape attempt

I would push the Balansae either all the way to the side or all the way to the back and move the Ludwigia or Rotala in front of the thick root structure of the balansae. Another option is to have the other crypts(believe its Green gecko) at the base of the Balansae.
I second Ghaz's thoughts on the need for some other focal point. Something to break up the gap in the two driftwood pieces from it being buried. Probably pull the rock that is in there to the left forward some so that its more visible. Another option there is to lower the Java Fern on the driftwood so that its closer to the base.
Not sure what stem plant that is between the two driftwood pieces but it looks like its going to get big on you so it might need to take up residence in the corner opposite the balansae.
Good start, what light is above the tank...very yellow, might have to balance the lighting up top to get the photos that the top shots gets here. Anyway my three cents.

To expand on what Ghazanfar is saying, the scape looks very flat. The plants you chose will work great, and will look great once they've grown in and bushed up a little bit. (that's happens after a few trims.) If you added some rocks, you would create more of a fore/mid/back ground element to the scape. Plus rocks can help hide things. For example, right now the main two pieces of wood are stuck right into the substrate. That's fine, but it doesn't really look natural. If you put a rock right between and in front of them, you would hide the fact that it's in the substrate, but still have the nice effect of the wood covered in moss/ferns. Most likely, those ferns would establish your mid ground, in combination with the rock/wood.
That said, it's better than my first attempt at scaping, so just keep trying a few things, and this will turn out really nice. And like everything, so much of this is subjective. So, if you disagree with us, that's okay. The tank is there to make you happy, so make sure you like how it looks first and foremost.

Good points all! Looks like I should've bought mossy rock over the weekend.
Will tinker with adding some rock... that piece in there that looks like a rock now is actually a short stump of driftwood.
That fern plant is umm... from Victor's trim... poma something something gaeya... something like that, lol.
The Balansae are so big that I ended up planting them amidst the rotala on purpose... the wind around and through the rotala. Will look to see if I can separate the two more.
Thanks for the advice folks!

Dave, if you don't like the idea of buying rock, some members have been known to pickup slate off of the side of the greenway in Va. Not sure what the legalities are, but there's a lot of it there from where they blasted through the rock to build the road. It doesn't have the same character as the porous mossy rock, but it's cheap.
