I guess they want to ban so many plants, the list would be a massive volume, and no one would read it. They just list the few plants they'll allow.Aaron wrote:We were talking about this at the AGA. Seems a little backwards to me. It makes more sense to me to maintain a blacklist like all of the other states do.
A lot of the issue with this is that the people in charge of the list have no idea what they are doing.
Lived there For a while (army made me do it). Glad I'm back on the East Coast!

It looks like the list is not 100% final yet:

Although, it's a little scary what's on the list of plants that'll likely be prohibited:

There are a lot of plants commonly sold on the forums, including brand new ones like Hygrophila pinnatifida. I wonder what this means for online sellers? Should we protect ourselves, and just refuse to ship to Texas now?

I understand the desire to prevent noxious infestations but I question whether they've even whitelisted all the aquatic plants native to Texas.
I suspect if this becomes prevalant there will be a lot more GWAPA native plant foraging going on.
It just occurred to me that what is perceived as "native" in one state may not be similarly received in another. Selling out of state may involve to much jeapordy.
