2009 2.5G Aquascaping Contest

The GWAPA Board is pleased to open up our fourth annual 2.5G Aquascaping Contest for registration.

With your registration, you'll get a tank, lighting, ADA Amazonia - pretty much everything but the plants. You scape it. Nurture it. Take a picture. The contest ends in October - and judging is by popular vote. First place winners will receive $50 gift certificates to the online store of their choice.

For folks who entered last years contest should reuse the same tank and light from last year and only pay a minimal registration fee for the contest. We'll give you new Amazonia to use. In addition you may purchase replacement bulbs for minimal cost for your light fixtures if you need them.

All members are encouraged to participate. It'll give you a chance to try out ADA Amazonia.

You may remember that we mentioned the possibility of stepping up to 5.5G tanks this year. We have tabled that idea in the spirit of trying to keep costs low for the contest. We may revisit this in future competitions if we can find a way to subsidize the cost of the larger tanks and materials. Until then, continue to amaze us by what you can accomplish with a 2.5G tank in this years' contest!

I think I just registered... don't think I actually need anything since I didn't actually use any of the stuff from last year

Now just to play with the ideas on what I want to do... anyone have any mineral soil rolling around that I can try in the 2.5?

im not registering quite yet but i do have a question: can we use a substrate of our choice? thanks

Damian, feel free to use whatever substrate you want. Likewise with the filter, etc. The main restriction is that you must use a 2.5G tank.
