Two Club Auction Requests

Post by ingg »

The Board has been seeing a couple of trends come through in the auctions over the past several months, and we'd like to implement a couple of guidelines. This is a great thing to have to address, as the auctions have steadily gotten bigger, broader, and overall an even greater place to find plants and other items!

A couple of things we'd like to address:

1. Please don't fill your bags of plants with water. It isn't needed, and is often creating a mess on people's furniture. If you are bringing fish or other livestock in bags, please double bag to prevent leaks.

2. In the event that we have multiple bags of similar/identical items, they may be bulk sold at one price to multiple people as seen necessary by the auctioneers.
  • It is suggested that you bring no more than two bags of any one given species. While we appreciate your willingness to share with many people, the auctions are usually quite large and often have duplicates of plants from various members.

A suggestion for those who bring fish would be that the animals are properly bagged in bags designated for fish and that there is 1/3 of water to 2/3 air or oxygen. Breather bags are the exception. No fish should be brought in zip lock bags.

Along Frannies line of thinking, IF a fish is brought to the meeting/auction in a non approved container, charge the seller whatever the cost o the bag is to rebag it if they dont have the appropriate bag?

i.e. you cant sell the fish in a ziploc, please rebag the fish, remove the fish or you can buy a bag for the fish for X amount.
