LoL - me and Ghazanfar are two of the three I felt could comfortably host 30+.

And even then, I don't mind admitting, Dori and I got fairly overwhelmed. We weren't expecting that many people - when a couple of large pizzas, 6 dozen cookies, a veggie platter, chips and salsa, 8 2 liters, and whatever else we had out get demolished in under 30 minutes...

I'd host a couple of times a year if it came to that - a couple, not like 4-6 - just not sure that the value of seeing many members' setups gets lost in that anyhow, and that seems to be the big draw of going to folks' homes.

I was totally kidding, just had to throw the drool in the tank comment out there and you and Ghaz seemed the likely receiver's of that.....

And your decision does not get any easier when the poll is tight.

No, it certainly doesn't. That's okay though, we're not going to rush into anything.

I like the idea of doing something different once in a while so I voted 50/50. I think if we move to a bigger location that we should try to find one in Virginia also.

We can investigate other locations, but I imagine that most places we find, are going to want a certain degree of commitment. We'll want to be sure we don't have to pay for space that's only used once every 4 months (assuming a rotation of MD HOME VA HOME).

We would definitely want a central location. Using Google maps, the Silver Spring location is 25-40 minutes from Gaithersburg (25), Herndon (40), Vienna (35), Springfield (40), Columbia (28), Ellicott City (35), Catonsville (40). That's pretty central to where most of our members live.

Also, Jeff, you mentioned Metro earlier. Glenmont station is probably a 5 min walk from the proposed location in Silver Spring.
