The board is waiting for confirmation from our contact at the National Zoo. If everything goes as planned, then the meeting with be January 28th meeting at the zoo, but we don't want to put any definitive information on the website until we've received confirmation. Thanks for bearing with us -- everything goes slower around the holidays...

The meeting dates for this year have been posted. The board will meet on the 15th to discuss meeting places and topics.
Note that on the day of the January meeting, the two closest metro stations will be closed, but bus service will be provided. Here is more information on this meeting:

FYI, if you plan on driving to the meeting, keep in mind that parking at the zoo is $20 unless you are a FONZ member, so it would be best to carpool to the meeting.
Also, The Amazonia is at the bottom of the hill at the National Zoo, so it is easiest if you park in Lot D.

If you plan on bringing plants to the auction, it would be best if you store your plants in a cooler, because with it being January, it gets pretty cold and we will be at the zoo for close to 2 hours. It would be really sad if the plants died in your car from the cold. If you are taking the Metro down and need to store your plants somewhere, let me or Jen know before the 1:30pm meet up time. We will have a cooler in the back of her SUV to place the extra plants in during our tour.

I am still not clear on weather we can bring our families for the tour.
Re: Jan. Mtg at Amazonia in National Zoo
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere on an earlier post that kids weren't allowed along on the tour.GOT MTS? wrote:I am still not clear on weather we can bring our families for the tour.

Oh, boo! My 9-year-old was super excited to come.
Re: Jan. Mtg at Amazonia in National Zoo
Yeah I already told my family they could come. Oh well I guess they can enjoy the rest of the zoo with out me. Also If your 9 year old wants to hang out with my wife and 11 year old that would be cool.

I scanned through the whole thread. I saw something about there possibly not being room for families, but nothing concrete....
