May meeting speaker needed!

Post by SCMurphy »

With the run up to the AGA taking most of everyone's time we neglected to nail down a speaker for the May meeting.

SO

We need a GWAPA member to step up and speak to the club about something to do with our hobby. We'd like YOU, someone new to get their feet wet and tell us about something YOU feel good about that YOU are doing in the hobby. Tell us how you defeated that mean old algae, about your new favorite fish or invert to keep with plants, about how you figured out that dang ehime filter..... OK maybe not that last one but we know that SOMEONE in the club has a talk just welling up inside them that is demanding to get out.

This is YOUR club, be a bigger part of it, make us your biggest fan club for 20 minutes on a select day in May.

What about a few "mini talks" like what CCA does once a year?

I have one that runs 10 minutes or so on Dicrossus maculatus, but I don't have a whole meeting's worth of information. I don't have much else, unless people want to know how to be a lazy/negligent/stubborn fish keeper :-P.

Well personally I already know how to be a LNS fishkeeper but maybe there are others that would benefit from your experience. If you can think of a way to add 10 more minutes to your talk you are there. I always try to keep it to 20 minutes or less because I end up answering questions for an equal amount of time after I am done. If someone else can do 10 minutes that works too.

The only other thing I've got that people might not know a lot about is a starter rain-collection system through the MoCo Rainscapes program... I say "starter" because I've only got 4 barrels and I'm still working out how to make the most of the water I'm collecting without sacrificing my laziness...

I vote for Becca on both topics - and really hope I can make it to the meeting.

Viktor, thanks, that would be great.

I guess I'd better finish up my slides. Do I need to send them to someone by a certain date?

Do I need to bring my projector and screen?
