FYI - DVAGA has folded

Post by DelawareJim »

From their last post....

Hello All,

It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to close down the club.
The club needs new leadership and unfortunately there just isnt
interest from anyone. As of Sunday, 1/6/08 the site and forum will be
unavailable.

We had a great run for 2 years and we met some incredible people.

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please email me at
jjjbaliban@comcast.net.

Best of luck to you all!!

jB

This is a real shame because Jason and Erin really put in a lot of work.

Unfortuately that's it. I really enjoyed the people, but for me, timing was really a problem. The club was launched just when Marlene and I started to essentially rebuild our house and with other activities, it was all I could do to make the meetings I did. Unfortunately, things at home are just about ready that I could have hosted some meetings. (heavy sigh)

Well, I could always just invite folks as interested hobbyists.

Cheers.

That's really sad to hear! Gaining new volunteers to help lead really is the most important aspect to keeping a club rolling. Without that, board members get burnt out. I'm sorry to hear that was the problem for DVAGA.

Please convey to all members that they are welcome at GWAPA meetings/events.

That sucks. Kris is right on the money - new blood is a must. It brings energy,
fresh ideas and keeps the club chugging along.

Hope that the club is resurected some time down the line.
