It's official--2011 is "The Year of Dutch"
In a nail-biter of a finish, you voted and by JUST ONE VOTE this year the focus and annual aquascaping contest will be on the Dutch style!
So break out your clogs and start gathering stem plants folks! No triad rock formations or mystical root jungles here! ;l
Other than Ghazanfar, is anyone out there excited and ready with their gameplan?

I saw a picture of a dutch tank recently, I can't recall where, but there was a piece of driftwood in it.Cristy Keister wrote:that depends... are rocks and wood not allowed to show at all in Dutch style? Do I have to yank out my 50 lb rocks and find a way to keep the big branches wet somewhere else?

So in reading the article, are we really restricted to no more than 12 plants, or is this dependent on the size of the tank?
Now thinking about it, I think we should really have a speaker to talk about Dutch tanks in more detail and also have a discussion of what judges are looking for and have guidelines.
Arlene , who though voted for Nature style, is very excited about doing Dutch and looks forward to this challenge and learning a lot in the next few months!!!

There are no happy endings.
Endings are the saddest part.
So just give me a happy middle
And a very happy start.
